Sonshine Music Festival 2010

Last weekend, Mitch and I went to Sonshine in Willmar, MN. Sonshine is an annual christian music festival in Minnesota. This year they had 80 or something bands, so starting early in the morning there was always at least one band at one of the 4 stages playing. We camped at the festival from Wednesday to Saturday with a bunch of other people from youthgroup and church.

When we first arrived it rained on us pretty bad, right when we were setting camp. So we had to wait it out under the big tent that was set up the day before.

After the rain some of the guys took of their shirts. Cody got his back slapped a couple of times until you could draw lines on it. Here is a smile face^^

We camped on one of the premium campsites which were located pretty much right next to where the stages and music area entrance was.

I met this guy at the water hose taking a bath. He told me that he was not willing to pay the 5 or 10 bucks for the shower pass, so he decided to take a bath right there - ice cold water, too...

There were four stages at the festival. The main stage, stage two, the indoor stage, and the show mobile which was a stage on a trailer. This is the only good picture I got of the indoor stage. My camera battery died on the second day I think, so my pictures are kind of limited to the beginning of the festival. At the indoor stage there were mainly screamo and heavy metal bands.

This was the main stage. It was pretty cool because we ware able to see the big screen from our campsite. So when ever we were to lazy to walk up there we just watched from the campsite.

Mitch took a picture of me throwing up the Diabolo. While taking the picture he was laying on the ground right next to me and pretty darn close to the Diabolo shooting down^^

4th of July 2010 Fireworks Video

Here's a video that I took with my digital camera, so the quality is not the best. Especially at the end when I ran out of space on my SD card and needed to turn down the video quality.

Look closely, I think I caught a smile face. They had hearts, too, but I'm not sure if there is any in the video.

4th of July

Today is the fourth of July - oh, wait, that was yesterday. Got kinda late I guess^^

4th of July was fun. We had a bunch of people over at our house to celebrate the birth of America. It is pretty cool to see all the flags and stuff on the streets but I think I still don't fully comprehend the meaning of this day to America and its people. Simply cause I am not American !?

We ate lunch sometime after 1 p.m., I can't remember the exact time. All kinds of good food including some of our own caught fish: Northerns, Sun fish and Bass. They all taste good, but Bass is still my favorite for some reasons. I think the meat is very soft and delicate.

This morning, we picked up some balloons at a store that we went to after church. Micah had the great idea to get some water balloons as well, which we ended up using after we finished eating lunch. At the beginning it was only Micah and I and some of the little kids and we filled up a couple of balloons with water. We gave one balloon to everyone and then had a little water balloon fight. Our small game turned out to become popular very fast and soon there was more people involved. Some were cheating and used buckets filled with water and the water hoses were used pretty fast, too. But it was a lot of fun and eventually everyone got wet. Some earlier (me) and some later (Eden)...

Check out pictures on Stephs blog, I didn't take any. Obviously.

And of course we went to see the 4th of July Fireworks. It was pretty awesome. We got there early so we had plenty of time to play around, juggling, cards, football and more...

Eden is getting pretty good with the Diabolos. Here we are tossing a Diabolo between each other.

Next is Mitch and I juggling balls. He's pro at that but I am going to need much more practice to get it going smoothly.

Here are some pictures of the Fireworks, too.

I took this one with my camera, all the pictures above are Stephs tough.

I took also took some videos that I will upload later today.

EDIT: Mitch and I are in the Newspaper. Click here.
